Worker for Calgary City Roads sleeps through heavy snowfall. He failed to wake fellow workers. Roads in the city quickly became skating rinks. The result was 200 plus vehicle accidents and several late employees.
The Mayor said:
"I think it does need to be topped up with a few extra million dollars."
The City admitted there are not enough workers to man all 70 sanders. The media did report that 70 trucks hit the road at 5:30am. Actually only about 50 trucks left the city yard. The workers could not get any sleep because of ringing phones.
Any extra taxes will go to the Mayor's slush fund. What we is a management review. Why does the city not have enough manpower? Answer: lazy managers!

ReplyDeleteCalgary City Roads crew does all it can with limited equipment and manpower. The managers sit in their offices during the storms. They just sit around waiting for payday.
